Fain Earns Highest Rating from Independent Municipal League

Seattle, WA— The nonpartisan Municipal League of King County rated 47th District State Senate Candidate, Joe Fain, as one of the few ‘Outstanding’ candidates up for election in 2010. "I am honored to be rated so highly by the Independent Municipal League," said Fain. "I have worked hard to understand how government works and to be an effective voice in promoting positive change." Fain has been very active in South County community service organizations, and led the successful initiative campaign to reform King County government in 2008. Fain has also served South King County for the last six years as staff to King County Council District 7.

The Municipal League evaluated each candidate’s “potential to be effective in office and ability to serve the community” and found Joe Fain deserving of their highest ranking.

According to the Municipal League website the ‘Outstanding’ rating signifies a candidate who “Has made numerous outstanding contributions requiring skills related to the office, is a path-finding and respected leader, brings knowledge and creativity to issues facing the office.”

Fain is the only Republican candidate to receive the ‘Outstanding’ rating this year, and is the only first time candidate to receive this award out of the 92 legislative candidates rated. Joe is also the only candidate to receive the 'Outstanding' rating who is running against an incumbent legislator, and is the only Republican senate challenger to be rated above their sitting Democratic opponent.

Earlier this month, Fain became the only Senate challenger to receive a key endorsement from the King County Realtors Association.
