The Association of Washington Cities (AWC), an Olympia-based organization advocating on behalf of Washington's 281 cities and towns, presented Sen. Joe Fain (R-Auburn) with a City Transportation award for his efforts to enact a transportation package during the 2015 legislative session.
Senator Fain was recognized as one of this year's Outstanding Legislators, his second year in a row. The award goes to legislators who have made exceptional efforts to support employment for people with disabilities. During the 2015 session, Fain protected funding for the VIP Act, which funds employment services for 1,000 people with developmental disabilities.
The Washington Coalition for Open Government presented its 2014 Ballard/Thompson Award to Senate Majority Floor Leader Joe Fain. The award honors a member of the state legislature who demonstrated outstanding dedication to the cause of open government during the previous legislative session.
The League of Women Voters recently honored Senator Joe Fain with the "Sunshine Award" for his work to improve access to public records during the 2014 legislative session.
The award was presented at the annual League of Women Voters TOAST! To the Candidates breakfast at the Westin in Seattle.

Graduate Washington Recognizes Senator Joe Fain as ‘Higher Education Champion’

Senator Fain was recognized by the Council of Metropolitan Police and Sheriffs (COMPAS) as its 2014 Legislator of the Year for his ongoing dedication to law enforcement officers statewide.

Senator Fain was named "Best Public Official" in the 2014 Covington / Maple Valley Reporter reader's poll. Finalists included Black Diamond City Councilmember Andy Williamson, Covington Mayor Margaret Harto, and Maple Valley City Councilmember Victoria Jonas.

Senator Fain was recognized on Sept. 26 at WMFHA’s annual Washington Apartment Outlook, an industry event which provides economic forecasts and highlights industry trends. The event gathered over 700 professionals from the multi-family housing industry.

Citing his work on a number of key issues, the Aerospace Futures Alliance has named Sen. Joe Fain (R-Auburn) its Legislator of the Year for 2013. The award was presented during the eighth annual Governor's Aerospace Summit in Everett on Wednesday.
